Carbs

Hello, I was wondering how many carbs are in the various flavors of Absolut you have? One of the posts on the website related to this says there are no carbs while the other says that there are. Which one is it?

  • But carbs and calories aren't the same thing?

    Shannon
  • Hi Shannon,

Absolut Vodka does not contain carbohydrates, proteins or fat. This information is also valid for the flavoured products in our product range. For the production of flavoured vodka, only natural ingredients from berries, fruits and spices are used and no sugar is added.

    Kind regards,

  • I'm not concerned with any added sugars because I know absolut on uses natural ingredients, but I am concerned about the carbs per serving. I am on a nutritionist recommended low carbs diet and would like to now the carbs per serving and per bottle of absolut Texas.

1 oz. (shot) Absolut Vodka 80 proof is around 67 calories. This information is also valid for the flavoured products in our product range.

    Hope this helps.

    All the best,

  • I feel like Jake does not understand what carbohydrates, proteins and fats are. All foods, natural or not, contain carbohydrates, proteins and fats. Actually most fruits contain a LOT of carbs. If you took some carb-free vodka and dropped a few slices of fresh pineapple in, it would now contain a ton of sugar and carbs, because pineapple itself is very sugary. I can only assume from this and Jake's nonsense responses that there ARE carbs in the flavored vodka.

  • I saw this on another website before coming here: "When cooled and condensed, the vodka retains some of the induced flavoring — but without carbs. As a general rule of thumb, flavored vodkas with a proof of 70 or above are carb free. Stick with brands such as Stoli, Smirnoff, Gorden's or Absolut, and you should be OK."

  • Hi Nina,
that's not actually correct because of the process by which vodka is distilled the sugars are turned into alcohol, leaving only the aroma of the fruit with none of the carbs.
Some vodkas do use a syrup to flavour their vodkas which, of course, contains carbs but having researched this a lot (I'm on a strict ketogenic diet) there are some brands of vodka that do not use flavour syrups and Absolut is one of them.
Quite simply, vodka contains no carbs but it is high in kcal/kj, so you need to be careful when consuming because it can up your kcal/kj intake quite easily (and, if you are in ketosis, the body will use the calories from alcohol instead of fat which, while not kicking you out of ketosis, still needs to be taken into account especially if you've hit a plateau).

  • As an RN who has worked for years managing diabetics, "all foods" do NOT contain carbs, just for the record. Thank you for the information on the Absolut calorie count.

  • Burnetts pink lemonade vodka... has 7 carbs per the site. So careful with flavored vodka. I do crystal light pink lemonade and regular vodka- my favorite is Absolute.   I bring the little water enhancers to the bar wix in some no cal/carb seltzer or just water and then the water enhancer.... then vodka.  Yumm

  • Omg- a few people are actually illiterate and have no idea what they are talking about here. Not all food has carbs. It’s quite possible to have booze with no carbs and flavors- natural or otherwise. Some of you people are seriously in need of an education

  • Emma, in all your research have you confirmed if the vodka is also free of sugar alcohol sweeteners?  I know that some are fine on a Keto diet but others actually still raise blood sugar and are a bad idea.

    Thank you.

You're an RN, so that means you know everything about carbs and food and #2.... , "all foods" do NOT contain carbs, just for the record. Ha ha you idiot
