Expiry?

I was just wondering whether an elixir like Absolut Vodka has an expiry?
If yes, what would be the specific time period in cases of Opened Bottle and Unopened one?

Regards!
Cheers!

  • We recommend you to store your bottle cool and dark. Room temperature is okay, but avoid heat and light. Given these conditions your bottle of ABSOLUT VODKA should meet your expectations of a quality product for several years. Our flavoured vodkas are more sensitive and to be experienced at their best ought to be consumed within two years of purchase. If the bottle is opened – vodka can react on light and warmth – but those changes are not dangerous. We recommend people to use senses – taste and smell. If you keep your opened bottle in dark and cool it should meet your expectations of a quality for a long time.

  • Why does the bottle seal has a date mentioned beginning with an "E"... Is it the expiry date?

    James
  • Dear James,

Please be advised that spirit products do not have an expiry date, since it cannot expire by nature of its contents of 43% alcohol. The date on the bottle is a Lot number and production date and is for tracking purposes only.

As for the the letter in the front of the date, it is a marking of which production line this was run on.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

    All the best

  • Hi, I just found a crate of Plain Absolute in my store room, now after 5 years.
Is it safe to drink it?
The storage room was always dark, no sunlight but temperature during a calender year did vary from extreme cold to extreme Hot!
Please advice as just don't want to take a risk?

  • Guarav, it should be perfectly safe. It may not taste any good, though, if it's been through those temperature extremes.

  • I have just bought a bottle of a split mandarin and it has a date 05/13 on the bottom which I assume is the date of manufacture. However I don't like the taste as it is very synthetic. Has it 'gone off' or is it just not to my personal taste?

  • Hi

I am from South Asia. I have purchased a 1 liter bottle of Absolut Vodka a few days ago. On the plastic cover around the cap there is a number printed as ' E20140925 8:45 '. I am bit confused about it's expiry date. If it is not expired, then I will consume it. I also intend to drink 6 pegs per weekend and will consume the whole drinks in 1 month(4 weekends). Can I drink in this way? I will preserve the bottle in refrigerator to conserve the quality of the drink.

I am eagerly looking forward to your prompt reply.

    Thanks with best regards

  • I just purchased a 750 ml bottle of 80 proof absolut. This 2015 Christmas season, absolut came out with these very gaudy blue and silver spray paint color bottles. Since I thought they looked like sh*t, I looked in the back and found an older bottle without the tinsel-f*cked paint design. However, this vodka literally (and I really do mean literally) tasted like the vodka was brewed with insects. It tasted like 1000 Korean stink bugs took a stinking sh*t in the mash. I'm usually a stoli drinker, but I've never tasted Absolut this bad. Perhaps the company has an explanation?

  • Hii this is omraj and i have a mango and pepper flavour vodka and its manufacturing date is 02 11 2015 so should i drink it or not please reply

    omraj mishra
  • Hi Rocky

Sorry for late reply! Is it a flavored or regular vodka? In general it’s like this: flavored vodka will last longer if it’s stored dark and cold. Freezing is possible but not recommended and alcohol freezes at half of it’s abv – so if 40% abv (100 proof) it will freeze at around -20*C. If there is sugar in the vodka the freezing point has to even lower, approx –25 *C or lower (depending on the sugar content)

Hope you find that answer helpful

  • Hey. I just purchaced a bottle of Absolut vodka and a bottle of Grey Goose vodka (both vodkas are regular, unflavored). Both of the bottles have been oppened once.
I have a party coming in 3 months. Will the vodkas still be drinkable(tastes good and has no health riskes) in 3 months if I store them properly?

I would really appreciate the reply

    Thanks

  • Hi,
I have a bottle of Absolut APeach I dont know all the storage conditions as I received it as a gift a couple of years ago.  The code on the bottle is L28S3 10:19 I want to now regift this and just want to make sure its safe to drink.  I think the receiver will mix it so they wont care much about the taste being perfect but I dont want them to get a tummy upset or anything.  Can you advise how old this code is and is it safe to drink?  From your comment above I am thinking its March 2002 for manufacture is that right?
    Just Peachy
  • I am wondering if Absolute vodka is unsafe to drink if held in stainless steel for a year
    Kevin
  • Hi Kevin
Let me get back to you on this one.

    Thanks,

    Magdalena Community Manager
  • Hi again Kevin

This should not be a problem. If its flavored vodka it might be a small risk that the taste will be a bit effected by being retained in steel for a year. But its not dangerous to drink and the quality will remain the same.

    Hope this was helpful.

  • I bought a bottle of Absolut Vanilla from a liquor store near Detroit. The number on it is A20130808. Just wanted to make sure it's still safe to consume. Thank you!
    Trisha
  • Hi Trisha

If the bottle has been opened over the years is small risk that the flavor is effected, but its not dangerous to drink.

    Hope that is helpful.
