How is this possible?

I bought a bottle of Absolut Vodka from one of the near liquor stores. Put it in the freezer and it froze solid? Umm, how is this possible?

  • Hey Shevona,

There is a possibility that the vodka will freeze when the freezer is a little bit colder than usual. All 80 proof vodka freezes at a temperature of -24 degrees Celsius. The vodka will however remain the same quality once it has melted - it helps to shake the bottle gently.

I wouldn't recommend to drink the vodka very cold. The perfect serving temperature is aprox 5-8 C. You can of course put the vodka in the freezer, but the colder vodka you have the more flavour and smell is lost.

I hope the above information is useful.

    Kind regards,
