Difficult to open Absolut Vodka bottle - lid, spinning, freezer, frozen

This is a problem with each bottle of Absolut I purchase. That is it is difficult to open. Even after the first time. Each time I open the bottle, it will spin in my hand. Other premium vodkas at not difficult to open. I like Absolut but as I age and my hand strength is no what it use to be, I will have change brands.

  • I could never change brands, I love the raspberry with red bull too much, but, I truly hate the cap design, it just spins and spins, why can't they just figure out how to fix the cap...

    Thank you for taking the time to contact us regarding this. We're sorry to hear that the cap is malfunctioning but happy that you told us so we can do something about it. Would you be able to tell me if this is always the case when unscrewing the cap or is it after taking it out of the freezer?
    The reason why I'm asking is that we have identified this problem before and it has to do with the inner plastic hinges dislocating from outer metal structure.

  • No need to reply. I took the bottle back to the store and they showed me how to open. Take the bottle in your hand and turn it upside down. Smack the bottle on the end a few times and then vodka will pour. Silly design...

  • The freaking bottle cap takes sometimes 10 mins to open! Just keeps turning and turning. Very frustrating.

  • I am also having the exact same problem after taking a 200ml bottle out of the freezer. I tried to "smack the bottle on the end a few times", but that did not work. I have had this problem before with Absolute, but not this extent. I guess Tito's is the way to go in the future.

  • Every bottle I buy the cap just spins until it finally catches and opens. It's 2015 and this should not be a problem. We've used screw on caps for years. Never have this problem with Sky vodka.

  • Bottle absolutely - see what I did there? - absolutely would not open. Drilled lid out, decanted vodka. Will never buy this brand again. If the company can't even get a screw cap to open, they have absolutely no QA on the packaging, so QA on the product must be equally incompetent.

  • I purchase Absolut from local ABC stores in Lynchburg, VA 24501. In my case it simply won't twist off no matter how hard I try.

  • I am also having the problem with the outer cap spinning. After reading the comments and seeing how long this has been a problem with no attempt to find a solution, I will begin work immediatly on finding a competing product that does not have this problem.

  • I live in the United States. For those of you who are disgusted by the lid yet still have some vodka left in the bottle, the cap from a 1 liter Scope bottle fits perfectly.

  • I bought 5 of your new Absolut Lime miniatures and 3 out of the 5 I had to use a flat head screwdriver to break the seal so I could open the bottle. The problem is that when you twist the cap it just spins and spins. It doesn't break off at the perforations don't break so the cap won't release.
    I have included a picture of the code on the bottle so you can look into this issue.

  • I can't get the damn lid off the bottle.  I ended up breaking the bottle and couldn't even drink the vodka.  Who was the genius that thought of this!  They should be fired.

Im having a party and i cant open the bottle it was frozen you guys have obviously known this was an issue for years i now have to go back to the store and get a different one. This is the first and last time i will ever buy this. It should come with a warning at least

  • I don't freeze my bottles and I still have a problem.  The inner plastic top sheers off and stays inside the metal cap.  This means that I can't reseal the bottle.  In addition the little glass ball falls out - found it twice in my drink, fortunately before I swallowed it.  Is it going to take a lawsuit from someone ingesting the glass ball to make you jettison this ridiculous design?  Please bring this potential product liability issue to the attention of your legal staff.  Purchased in Costa Rica.

  • Your caps are terrible - I spin it and spin it until it finally comes off the bottle. I looked at ur website and see this has been an ongoing issue for years. Please change ur caps or I will change my brand

  • What's wrong with you people?? These complaints started more then 4 years ago and the problem persists!!!!!! Ther cap will not come off without considerable frustration if you keep the bottle in the freezer!!
    Don't get it? Take a bottle home...put it in the freezer, then tomorrow try to get the cap off!!!!
    It's pretty clear there's a problem. At the truly ridiculous price of the product you'd think you could afford to fix this little glitch...get a different cap!!!!

  • It's 2018 and I just bought a bottletter of SKYY Vodka for the first time and I can't turn this cap and I see these posts are old so the problem was never fixed.
